| I decided before Christmas to treat myself to an alloy diff case on the punisher. Nothing wrong with the stock one but thought, why not? Santas treat to me lol Well it sat there in the kitchen like a huge HINT! And Santa forgot to bring me the rest of the diff (she doesn't read this, my life is safe ;) ) so today the rest of my order arrived to totally rebuild the rear diff. First impressions? The diff case looks very impressive. The machining looks nice, holes all line up properly, threaded holes all look good and feel nice to screw into. You're supplied with all the screws needed to assemble and to bolt to the chassis. The screws are labelled A2 on the countersunk M5's so I'm assuming they're all stainless. The only thing I've supplied is a drop of threadlock. I'm very happy with the quality of manufacture of the case. Stainless bolts will divide people's opinions, I personally don't mind them as they don't corrode like standard steel bolts. The alloy diff is a superb looking bit of kit. The cover lines up well, the screws again feel nice. They come without oil or grease so need a bit of something in there. Being a basher it's a few blobs of grease for me :) . The internals look good, well machined and from a solid lump rather than cast. The gears look as good as the nutech ones in the stock diff. But where as the stock diff requires you to fiddle with tiny pins on the outer gears to the cups, these are splined for easy removal and the ability to replace them simply. A much, much better way forward IMO. The gears are also packed with several shims so you can adjust if need be. I didn't feel the need to fiddle so left them all in. I needed to threadlock the ring gear screws, a bit of an oversight maybe but it could catch one or two out. It's easily done . Back on the plus side, both are supplied with the relevant bearings installed which I think is a nice touch So yes, it is £160 but I think it more than justifies itself so far. Hopefully I'll install it and get it running for the weekend so I can report back. It's nice to have some half decent parts rolling in to production too for this buggy. One last picture, of it all assembled with a ZMC shock tower on too (destined for the front) - get me with the bling lmao And yes, I got bored with a sharpie:lol: A big thanks to Nigel at freeprawn for persevering and getting these goodies | |

| That's sweet as aaaaa nut!!!!
Grease it, fit it, runnnnnn it!!!!
Those spline drives are such good idea!!
Those cups looks like the hard ones as well! Extra sweetness!
The shock tower is awesome, 6mm thick!! Used with the Blackbone front tower brace, should give you one solid front shock tower!!

| Oh, my mistake, thought they were 6mm. 7mm should do the trick, Blackbone or no bone..LOL They're threaded shock bodies did the trick very nicely last Sunday. Can have super fine preload adjustments and not having to be stuck between 10mm preload and 15mm preload tubes. Super impressed with the diff housing as well, should hold the diff to pinion mesh pretty solid =) | |

Do drop by man, you need directions to the track? | |
