| Well been fancying one for ages An been watching them all get released one after the other, an the one that caught my eye when it got released was the HONG NOR SCRT10 its 4WD,come with a 3mm alloy chassis, 3 diffs, CNC engine mounts,Sway bars all round, Universal driveshafts, an loads more, so really stood out in my eyes It seems to be aimed at the more race bread market, but should stand up to the normal abuse we throw at them So Anyway, Ive now finally got one Just finished putting it together They come 80% PRE built So Its simply a case of putting the tyres on the wheels an gluing them Fitting the bead locks Installing the front bumper An then adding all your stuff, Motor, ESC, servo, battery, an radio gear Then getting the shell sprayed an stickered up Motor an ESC wise Ive gone for the LOSI 1/10 Xcelorin S 4.5T Brushless Combo, form Modelsport Along with a HPI Plazma 7.4V 4000mAh 20C LIPO So here She is I haven't run it just yet as I still need to install the radio gear, but will do soon an once ive had my first run I will let you know my thoughts on it Safe to say currently though I bloody love it, Its a fantastic kit, an I think it looks stunning | |

Thanks Matt I hope it is, what do you think I should do to keep it cool then ?? Vent the shell, add a heat sink to the motor ?? Or just worry about the gearing Currently its stock gearing, so nothing too extreme

| Basically to summerise sensored motors are gay.
Looks awsome mark ;) if you got a slash I would stop talking to you lol
Just run it first time with the shell of and keep putting your finger on the motor to make sure it dosent get to hot. Slightly more important here as to my knoladge sensored motors are more easily damaged by heat.

Having seen the repairs an the bills that must go with that, happening to the Slashes at the 'T' Party I'm afraid I wouldn't have one They seem to take a beating, but man alive how many drive shafts did Nick do in 1 day .......... 12 or something Bugger so sensored may not be a great Idea, will keep my eyes on it, an do as you say on the first run What's the best way to keep temps down ???

| seeing as no one has answered you Hoss, I'm assuming the motor temps should be fine. I think ten seconds is a sensible time but have seen three seconds mentioned, any shorter or welding your fingers to the can and it's 'too warm' lol
If needed then you can buy a heatsink for the motor. Some have mounts for fans too to further aid cooling. Try it before spending any more ;) Personally I think you should be OK as there's a lot of air under them shells there.
I quite fancied the slash as my next rc for their resilience and for the waterproof aspect but the driveshafts lost were mental. It put me off :(

thats the spirit lol Best way to keep the temp down is to run it on low cells and not bomb round at full speed but thats boring lol Basically there are two things that make them hot, and if you undenstand them youll be best place to counter the problems. Firstly, spending to much time spining at full speed which is genrally cause by gearing being too low. Secondly the motor drawing to much current. to generate the torque required This is far more common as its caused by over gearing and not having a big enough motor for the car, both of which make for higher top end speed hence it being more common lol. So basically the idea is to gear for a sweet spot between the two. Fans heat sinks ect help but dont bother with the crapy clip on ones they just fall off all the time. Best thing is to just go and try it you might not have any heat issues .
